I think I will just buy a different fog light kit. I have informed the dealership that there must be something wrong with the electrical as I need to change each fog lights between 2-4 times a year. It still does not work. Fog lights are constantly burning out. I took it to the shop and they replaced a fuse. In November 2014 I tried my defrost and found it did not work again. Hyundai Santa Fe in Quebec, Canada Oct 2014 - Nov 2014ĭefrost was not working approximately a year ago and new electrical connection was installed. CD player update, still waiting on parts after 4 months, very upset. It was the actuator, and seems the same now, parts ordered. Previously, the same happened with rear nearside door. Rear offside door not opening from inside or outside. Loss of fluid for power steering, steering rack replaced New system required, three weeks wait for delivery. Like I said., I reassemble the engine myself after I had the short block rebuilt and I took a lot of care to make sure I torqued the head bolts properly. My new gaskets and head bolts arrived yesterday from RockAuto, the new gaskets (Felpro perma-torque MLS) don't look any different than the Auto7 gaskets I installed when I reassembled the engine a few months ago. In two weeks the oil level has only gone down about 1/16 on an inch on the dip stick. I add about a quart of water to the radiator every day and check the oil. As near as I can tell, I am leaking mostly water and only a small amount of oil. ![]() ![]() It makes some sense to me now why it is leaking where it is given the location of the oil feed. I suspect bank one is leaking too but I can't get a good look in there with the intake still on. Just to the right of the blue circle in the last pic is where mine is leaking from on bank 2. The drain path makes sense now and the pics do shed some light on what I'm going to find when I open mine up. Now I have to pull everything off again on my next day off (Monday) to fix it. This is what happens when you only have a few hours to work on your car and you have to have it back together to drive to work the next day, you get in a hurry and miss the obvious. After scraping the gasket from the heads, I replaced them with metal gaskets and put everything back together without bothering to try to figure out why they were all wet. When I remove that, the gaskets were soaked and fell apart. If given enough time, it would have eventually cleaned all the crud out of that passage on its own.įunny thing is, I had the supercharger and intake off the car 10 days ago to swap in my 360cc injectors and in the process of removing the fuel rails, I dropped one of the fuel line nuts down into the valley and couldn't retrieve it so I had to remove the lower intake. If you look at the pictures I posted earlier in the thread you can see that the stain is lighter in the pics I took a couple of days after first discovering the leak. The coolant is running down the drain picking up any accumulated dirt, gunk, and oil along the way and carrying it out of the mystery hole. Most of the water is evaporating on the hot engine (the sizzling sound I heard) leaving the coolant behind. This is why my engine is running hot at times. ![]() What I believe is happening is that water and coolant are leaking from the coolant pipe, probably the O-ring where the pipe goes into the back of the water pump housing. Reko had already pointed out that I recently had an overheating problem and I am convinced this is all related.
